Initially a rural suburb of Brisbane, Albany Creek began developing in 1960s as the Brisbane metropolitan grew. This led to the opening of more schools for the growing population. Albany Creek also has three main shopping centres, including Woolworths, Aldi and a Centro Albany Creek, which hosts a Coles supermarket. Albany Creek is located north of Brisbane in Moreton Bay Regional Council. It is positioned on a small hill which runs down to the South Pine River.
