With a strong indigenous history, this suburb's name derives from a Yuggera word meaning young man and was home to a number of Bora rings, ceremonial land sites of the local tribes of the time. Famous for its trainline and easy access to transportation, additionally Keperra was home to Brisbane's famous drive-in movie theatre that would accommodate 650 cars until its closing in 1998.
