Lota is an eastern bayside outer suburb found 16 kms east of the centre of Brisbane. With a history of being part of the Moreton Bay Mipirimm tribe, semi-nomadic aborigines. Lota is home to a number of key amenities, including the Wynnum Hospital, Bayside PCYC, Bayside United Soccer Club, Lota State School and Melaleuca Environmental Park. The Lota Foreshore Park (Lota Camping Reserve) is a large bay-front park that stretches along the eastern edge of the suburb, that holds a number of family areas such as playgrounds, barbecuing facilities, boat ramps and a sculpture park.
